AIBA Boxing Championships

The 2007 AIBA World Boxing Championships served as the first qualifying competition for the 2008 Olympic Games. With nearly 700 boxers from more than 120 countries, this eleven day event was the largest world boxing championship in history drawing approximately 3,500 attendees each day. The City of Chicago was selected as the host for this international tournament which was held at the University of Illinois – Chicago Pavilion. Classic Party Rentals was hired to provide the structure, pole and tent environments. This structure was used to house the following areas of the championship activities: Main VIP area, Media Relations, Referees, Police and Fire Departments, Entries, Registration, Hospitality Area, Athlete Walkway and the Back of the House/Production Area. Classic also worked with the 1,000 volunteers to coordinate the activities in the various areas.

In excess of 60 different products from 12 departments were provided by Classic and consisted of: glass double doors, a liner, custom fabric tent leg treatments, electric heaters, fire extinguishers and signs, lighting consisting of par cans, white chandeliers, brass chandeliers and high bay lights, staging, ramp stage, black turf, stage skirts, nine different table sizes, four different chair styles, chair cushions, linens, skirting, chair covers, draping, barricades, ropes and stanchions, along with a variety of food service equipment, bars and trash cans.
